Mike has competed at the highest level in the sport for over 10 years. Along with competing himself in the 2021 NoBull CrossFit Games, Winning the 2015 European Championships, competing at CrossFit Regionals on 3 occassions and standing on the podium 4 times at 4 CrossFit Sanctionals.

As a personal programmer and online coach you have to focus on the client, on their goals and communicate with them effectively throughout the process.
ASSESSMENT
Your very first appointment will be all about getting to know you. You will tell us about your day to day life, your weekly schedule, your eating habits and, most importantly, your goals. Following this there will be a physical assessment, with the purpose of assessing your flexibility, strength and endurance. From this, we will have a very good understanding of how best to develop YOUR training program.
PROGRAMMING
Following the Assessment, Mike will design YOUR training. Your training program is designed based on your assessment results, your stated goals, your schedule of availability, etc. It is YOUR training program. Mike will take your results, feedback and videos (if applicable) into account when designing your continued programming.
NUTRITION & LIFESTYLE
Regardless of your goals, it is imperative you are giving adequate attention to your food choices. What should I eat? How much protein? How much fat? How much Carbohydrate? We will work with you to help you develop food habits that are both healthful and sustainable. This will be part of an ongoing conversation with your Mike.
Mike Catris is the first man from Wales to qualify for the CrossFit Games. Mike comes from a strong sporting background; along with boxing and athletics, Mike also played representative rugby from the age of 11, ending his rugby career in the Welsh Premiership.
During his time at university Mike became a personal trainer and studied sports nutrition alongside his degree. With the knowledge and experience he acquired in the industry Mike set up KRATOS Nutrition Ltd. in 2011 which has developed into one of the leading nutrition brands in the UK CrossFit market.
Having always enjoyed the strength and conditioning element to the sports that he played, he discovered CrossFit as a way to help improve performance on the field. In 2012 Mike retired from rugby following an eye socket fracture, and took up CrossFit as his sport of choice. Since then Mike has won numerous competitions across the UK and Europe including European Championships, CrossFit Games Regionals in 2015 and 2018. From 2019-2021 Mike has competed at 5 CrossFit Semi Final (Sanctionals) and podiumed on all 5 occasions finally qualifying for the 2021 CrossFit Games in Madison Wisconsin.
Mike started coaching CrossFit in 2012 and has also coached strength and conditioning for several rugby clubs, notably Glamorgan Wanderers and the Newport Gwent Dragons Women’s XV. In this time Mike has worked with a huge range of individuals, from middle aged mums to elite athletes and has a wealth of experience in coaching individuals and groups alike.
In 2015 Mike opened ION Strength and Conditioning, a functional fitness facility in Cardiff and one of the most successful CrossFit gyms in the UK.
Since then he has gone on to own The Athlete Program, a highly successful online training provider for CrossFit athletes worldwide.
